Faith M. O’Toole 1925-2013
CORTLAND – Faith Mary O’Toole, 88, formerly of Warren, passed away unexpectedly at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Lake Vista Community Living Center with her husband at her side.
She was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Youngstown, the daughter of Harry A. and Rose Wehner Diroll.
She graduated from Hubbard High School in 1942 and she attended Youngstown College.
A homemaker, prior to her marriage she worked at the former Sharon Steel Corporation’s Farrell Plant. Along with her husband, Joseph L. O’Toole Sr., they owned Roemer Industries Inc. in Sharon, Pa. She served as treasurer at Roemer Industries from 1973 until the company was bought by their son in 1986.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, Pa., and was a member of their former Mothers Club.
Faith enjoyed playing cards, and in years past, she always enjoyed playing in the Mercer County Crippled Children Bridge Marathon.
She was a member and past officer of the Catholic Daughters of America Sharon Court 507.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. O’Toole Sr.; four daughters, Cathy A. (John) Songer of Sharon, Pa., Susan M. (Edward) Kleinman of Havertown, Pa., Mary E. (David) Irish of Marysville and Faith A. (Scott) Kellogg of Mayfield Heights; two sons, Joseph L. O’Toole Jr. and Mary Frye of Brookfield and Kevin J. (Marilyn) O’Toole of South Euclid; three brothers, Richard (Patt) Diroll and Donald (Delores) Diroll, both of California, and F. John (Ruth) Diroll of Stow; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Diroll.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. today at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, Pa. A short prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., prior to leaving for the church.
