Two shows open at gallery

Two exhibitions opened Friday at the Art Outreach Gallery.

The Collective Palette Studio is a collaboration of agencies — Fairhaven Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities, REM Ohio, Siffrin and the Western Reserve Independent Living Center — providing services to individuals with disabilities in Trumbull County, and work by the individuals it serves will be on display.

“An Artist Can Come From Anywhere” will feature the work of Shannon McEwan, who died in 2012. McEwan would have been 19 years old this year, and one of her dreams was to be an artist. After her death, her mother found more than 50 drawings and some unfinished ones and was invited by the Art Outreach Gallery to exhibit them.

An opening reception is planned from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Both exhibitions will be on display through Feb. 5 at the Art Outreach Gallery, located inside Eastwood Mall Complex, 5555 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles. Gallery hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
