Catholic Women hold Night at the Races
NILES — The Niles Catholic Women’s Club will host a Night at the Races 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St.
The cost for each horse and / or jockey is $10. Admission is included, along with pizza and salad.
To attend but not buy a horse also is $10. Races may be sponsored by individuals, groups or businesses for $50.
Along with 10 races, there also will be basket raffles and a 50/50 drawing.

McKinley birthday celebration planned
NILES — The McKinley Memorial Library will celebrate the 174th birthday of Niles native and the nation’s 25th president, William McKinley, noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 28.
Refreshments will be served at the McKinley Birthplace Home and Research Center on South Main Street, where there will be self-guided tours.
The event is free and open to the public.

TCAP hosts evening for families
WARREN — The TCAP Head Start program will host a family fun night 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Warren West Community Health Center gymnasium, 716 Tod Ave. SW.
The event, “From Pennies to Dollars,” is open to only Head Start families and will premote personal finance and math development opportunities for both children and adults.
The event will include dinner, prizes and entertainment, including Daniel Jay, the “family ventriloquist.”
Two 20-minute sessions from experts on budgeting and saving will be provided in addition to more than 30 raffle prizes.
The first 10 families to attend will receive a free piggy bank.
