U.S. Rep. Ryan to meet with GM CEO Mary Barra
U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan, D-Howland, will meet today with General Motors CEO Mary Barra to discuss the future of the Lordstown plant.
On Nov. 26, GM announced it would unallocate five of its facilities, including Lordstown, affecting more than 14,700 jobs nationwide and 1,500 jobs locally.
Since the GM announcement last week, Ryan has spoken to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence about his frustrations on the matter and what can be done to bring a new product to GM Lordstown.
Ryan also discussed these frustrations with Barra over the phone, adding he is committed to finding a solution that will keep jobs in Lordstown.
Barra also will be meeting with U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
