Police investigate robbery of bank

AUSTINTOWN — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man they say robbed the Huntington Bank Wednesday afternoon.

Police said a black man, about 5 feet, 10 inches and wearing a black coat, hat and leather boots, entered the bank around 2:25 p.m., waited his turn in line and presented the teller a note saying, “This is a robbery, I have a gun.” The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robbery was caught on video surveillance.

Austintown police Detective Bryan Kloss said the man, who was not wearing a mask, never showed a weapon and afterward, he ran out the door. No getaway vehicle was seen, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Austintown police Detective Sgt. Jordan Yacovone at 330-270-5109.
