WHAT: Township trustee meeting, Monday

PRESENT: Ron Haun, Gary Lees and Dan Suttles

Trustees:

• Approved $1,114 to update the Firefighter Passport for Accountability System which is used by firefighters to locate firefighters during a fire scene or emergency situation. The passport-style fabric fastener name strips are designed for easy removal and exchange with incident command. The passport apparatus collector helps identify which firefighter is assigned to which apparatus;

• Passed a resolution supporting General Motors, its workers, and efforts to keep the Lordstown plant open;

• Announced the township Christmas celebration is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the center and at Brookfield United Methodist Church. The event will include a parade with Santa Claus;

• Established rules and guidelines for use of the new community events sign at the center;

• Are seeking volunteers to help drive the senior citizen van. Haun said if they can’t get enough drivers, the service only will be provided one day a week, on Thursdays. The township will reimburse those needing background checks;
