Brookfield teachers net raises in contract

BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Board of Education on Monday approved a three-year contract with the Brookfield Federation of Teachers, granting pay increases in each of the three years.

Treasurer Craig Yaniglos said the 69 teachers represented by the union will receive 0.5 percent increases in each of the first two years and a 1 percent increase in the third year.

Yaniglos said the pay increases and teacher steps will cost the district $83,238 the first year, $94,603 the second year and $126,770 the third year.

The contract is retroactive to July 1 and runs through June 30, 2021.
