Sebring man accused of racial slur
SEBRING — Officers arrested a Sebring man over the weekend, saying he threatened neighbors with a gun and used a racial slur.
According to Tribune Chronicle news partner WKBN 27, Koty Claypool, 24, was charged with ethnic intimidation, having weapons under disability, aggravated menacing and inducing panic.
The incident occurred outside an apartment complex in the 800 block of South 13th Street.
Claypool reportedly told a male neighbor his father was in the KKK, adding he would crush the man’s skull, according to a police report. He also reportedly told neighbors he’d do damage to their vehicles, including slashing tires and setting them on fire.
Claypool told police he was upset with the neighbors because the exhaust on their vehicle was loud.
