Bazetta seeks passage of levy

BAZETTA — The Bazetta Park Board is reqesting township trustees place a 0.25-mill, five-year park levy on the May primary ballot to generate $30,000 for park needs, operations and improvements.

Board members said Tuesday the trustees will need to officially place the levy on the ballot at an upcoming meeting before the Nov. 17 deadline.

The park, which closes for the season Nov. 1, has received donations and money from fundraisers to operate the park for the 2019 season, but the levy is needed for funding for 2020.

If passed, the owner of a $100,000 home would pay less than $10 per year. A citizens committee will be formed to publicize the levy.

The park includes the Imagination Station play area. The board is also asking trustees to approve Bradley’s Pressure Wash to do work at the park next spring.
