WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Heidi Brown, Phil Pegg and Rich Dascenzo

Trustees:

• Approved withdrawing their objection to the liquor permit for Candywood Whitetail Ranch, which has agreed to place their request for the permit “in safekeeping” meaning they can’t serve liquor on the premises;

• Approved getting salt for $7,091 and mill and fill for $1,590 from the county engineer’s office;

• Announced a Sept. 11 memorial service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial in front of the fire station. The event remembers the events of the 2001 terrorist attacks;

• Hired Brandon Shuler as a part-time police officer at $13.50 per hour and accepted the resignation of James Johnson, who accepted a full-time position with another department;

• Hired Chad Favric as a full-time road department employee at $15 per hour;

• Approved an $80,195 Federal Emergency Management Agency grant for turnout gear for the fire department with the township’s share at $4,045;

• Received a $4,750 emergency medical service grant for EMS supplies.
