On the record – Lordstown

WHAT: Village council meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Robert Bond, Karen Jones, Lamar Liming, Ron Radtka, Donald Reider, Howard Sheely and Mayor Arno Hill

Council:

• Approved an ordinance establishing the permanent part-time position of a school resource officer within the village. The school resource officer will be paid $39,531 for a nine-month period starting at the beginning of the school year. Most of the cost will be paid by the school district;

• Approved an ordinance allowing the village to enter into a 36-month contract with CenturyLink to provide computer network services to the police department at a cost of $375 a month;

• Approved a resolution that amends the credit card policy for village employees. The new policy will now specify who the users are, that the cards can only be used for village purposes and the statements are reconciled at the end of each month. The policy is being changed on the recommendation of the Ohio State Auditor, who suggested that control of the cards needed to be tightened up.
