WHAT: Township trustee meeting Aug. 27

PRESENT: Linda Miller and Fred Stahl

ABSENT: Greg Leonhard

Trustees:

• Reported that Bob Nemeth, chairman of the township park board, was able to get volunteers to help fix the roof at the park building at the former Joseph Badger School site, costing $600 for materials but saving $4,000 in labor, which was all donated;

• Will have surveying work done at the former Joseph Badger School property where there are seven different parcels in an effort to combine the parcels. Officials are also addressing with Ohio Edison electrical lines on the property;

• Decided not to use the former Harmon Motors building off state Route 5 for a township building for police because of renovation costs;

• Approved Gary Kidd to replace Tom Gross, who moved from the township, to handle maintenance on police vehicles on a volunteer basis. Trustees thanked Gross for all he did for the township;

• Announced the township will receive a $500 increase in state local government funding for 2019 at $20,108;

• Will seek a $500 to $1,000 grant for a Make A Difference Day project re-roofing the bandstand at the township center. Miller said trustees should receive word by late September on the grant;
