Cocaine mix with fentanyl on rise
WARREN — A mixture of cocaine and fentanyl is circulating in Trumbull County, according to the Trumbull County Combined Health District and the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board.
There have been 29 confirmed overdose deaths in Trumbull County for 2018, according to a news release from the agencies. Toxicology screenings show heroin has decreased significantly, while the presence of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, and cocaine have increased, the release states.
Free naloxone, an opioid overdose reversal drug, is available by appointment by calling the health district at 330-675-2489. Those interested in seeking help for addiction can call the Coleman Access Center at 330-392-1100 or 211.
