Power knocked out in Howland, Warren

HOWLAND — More than 900 homes were without power Tuesday afternoon after a power line was knocked over and a transformer went out in the area of East Market Street.

A Ohio Edison spokesman said crews were out working to restore power to 839 Howland residents and 95 Warren residents who were effected.

Howland Township Trustee Jim Lapolla, who has an office off East Market that lost power, said he was informed a tree knocked over a power line off East Market Street near Leo’s Ristorante just after 2 p.m. knocking power out to that area and east of Route 46 for a few hours.
