WHAT: Township trustee meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Rebecca Rood, Dennis Kuchta and Jeff Tucker

• Will have attorney Mark Finamore address a zoning matter from resident Pam Karousu of Anderson-Anthony Road of a neighbor who put up a two-bay 20×40 feet steel structure on cement within less than 10 feet of her property in 2009. She said the building is not a permanent structure. Officials said Ohio Revised Code doesn’t allow zoning to regulate structures that are not connected to a foundation with zoning codes implemented in 2013 after the structure was put in;

• Appointed Kuchta and Tucker to the tax incentive review board for a meeting June 20 at the county planning commission office regarding Holiday Inn and Venture Plastics;

• Hired Brian Mackey as a part-time patrolman at $11 per hour;

• Heard from Kuchta that the waterline project from Braceville to West Farmington will have to first have nature experts check for and remove a rare Massasauga rattlesnake, which breeds in parts of northern Trumbull County;

• Approved paying the township’s share of $6,102 for the culvert replacement on Herr-Fieldhouse Road, which is a joint $12,0000 project with Southington;

• Announced mosquito spraying 7 p.m. to midnight Friday;

• Announced community garage sales July 28 to 29 with free permits for the event;

• Approved getting 100 tons of gravel from Woodford Excavating at $15 per ton for McConnell-East Road.
