Joseph Mosca named interim provost at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN — Joseph Mosca, dean of the Bitonte College of Health and Human Services at Youngstown State University, was named interim provost Thursday.

The provost is the university’s chief academic officer.

Mosca, who joined YSU in 1989 and has been dean since 2009, takes over for former provost Martin Abraham, who resigned in May to go back to his position of professor in the Department of Civil / Environmental and Chemical Engineering.

The school’s board of trustees and President Jim Tressel will appoint an advisory committee to search for a new provost.
