Warren schools employee on leave
Claim of sexual battery made at WGH
WARREN — A Warren City Schools employee is on paid administrative leave after an allegation of sexual battery surfaced at Warren G. Harding High School.
The school district asked Warren police to investigate the allegation that a police report states happened between 12:59 and 1:46 p.m. March 14 at the high school, 860 Elm Road NE.
Police have not interviewed the employee. It is unclear if the employee works at the high school.
The report states police and the district are investigating a sexual battery and lists the victim as a 16-year-old girl and the location as the high school. The report also lists another teen, 15, as a witness.
Charges have not been filed.
Superintendent Steve Chiaro said the school district told police of the allegation on Thursday, immediately after learning of it.
He would not confirm whether the employee placed on leave was a teacher or other staff member, nor would he say the gender of the employee.
“The integrity of the investigation is most important to us,” Chiaro said.
Only one district employee has been placed on paid administrative leave in connection with this case.
