Patrol uses Taser on wrong-way driver

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Warren Post had to use a Taser on a driver who was reportedly driving the wrong way on state Route 11.

A report states the patrol responded 4:39 a.m. Sunday to a call about the incident on state Route 11 in Vienna. Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but a chase began until the driver lost control of his vehicle, and it became disabled in the median near Tibbetts-Wick Road in Liberty, the report states.

The driver, Richard Kreager, 35, of Columbus, tried to resist troopers as he exited the vehicle and had to be subdued with a Taser, the report states.

Kreager was then transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown. Drugs are suspected, the report states, and charges are pending.

Officers from Vienna and Liberty police assisted at the scene, and a Liberty Fire Department ambulance transported Kreager to the hospital, the report states.
