Online sex sting nets 10 arrests

Four from Trumbull part of group accused of predatory activity

WARREN — Ten men, including four from Trumbull County, were arrested on charges in Mahoning County in connection to an investigation into sexually predatory activity on the internet.

The men are accused of attempting to solicit young boys and girls for sex, according to a release detailing information of “Operation Pedo-Cure,” which went down Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Those arrested are:

• Matthew Lee, 33, of Warren, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and possession of criminal tools.

He is accused of soliciting for a girl, 13, the release states. Court information was not available for Lee on Wednesday. Lee was released Tuesday from the Mahoning County Jail, jail records show.

• Dallas D. Runner, 38, of Niles, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and possession of criminal tools.

He is accused of soliciting for a girl, 15, the release states. Court information for Runner was not available on Tuesday. He is being held in the Mahoning County Jail, records show.

• Keith A. Cramer, 19, of Niles, on charges of importuning and possession of criminal tools.

• Andrew S. Pitts, 36, of Liberty, on two charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and possession of criminal tools.

Pitts is accused of soliciting for two boys, ages 12 and 14, the release states. He is in the Mahoning County Jail on $15,000 bond, according to jail records, and is due back in March 16 following his initial court appearance Tuesday, according to court records. No plea was entered.

• Kyle J. Malice, 24, of Boardman, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and possession of criminal tools.

He is accused of soliciting for a boy, 13, the release states. Malice, freed on bond Monday, made his initial court appearance on Tuesday, court and jail records show. No plea was entered. He is due back in court March 16.

• Tyler Kachelries, 25, of Youngstown, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, possession of criminal tools and corrupting another with drugs.

He is accused of soliciting for a girl, 14, the release states. Kachelries, who did not enter a plea during his arraignment Tuesday, was released from the Mahoning County Jail on Monday, court and jail records show. He is due back in court March 16.

• Terrance Hymes, 28, of Youngstown, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and possession of criminal tools.

He is accused of soliciting for a girl, 13, the release states. Hymes, jailed on $9,000 bond, did not enter a plea at his first court appearance Tuesday, court and jail records show. He is due back in court March 16.

• Jason M. Krzyzewski, 41, of Sharon Pa., on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and possession of criminal tools.

He is accused of soliciting for a boy, 13, the release states. Court information for Krzyzewski was not available on Tuesday.

• Michael Jason Bowman, 39, of Canton, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and possession of criminal tools.

Bowman, accused of soliciting for a boy, 15, is a registered sex offender for disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and child pornography, the release states. Bowman, jailed on $9,000 bond, did not enter a plea at his arraignment Tuesday, court and jail records show. He is due back in court March 16.

• James R. Smith, 51, of Akron, on charges of importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and possession of criminal tools.

He is accused of soliciting for a girl, 15, the release states. Smith, free on $9,000 bond, did not enter a plea Tuesday at his first court appearance, court and jail records show. He is due back on March 16.
