Kinsman man killed in Fla.
A Trumbull County man died Feb. 16 when he was struck by a pickup truck as he tried to cross a street in Palatka, Fla., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A Florida Highway Patrol dispatcher said Steve Kintz, 73, of Kinsman, was walking north attempting to cross the four-lane road at Fourth and Reid streets about 7 p.m. when he stepped into the path of a Nissan Titan pickup truck. Kintz was taken to Putnam Community General Hospital, where he died at 8:11 p.m., the report states.
According to the dispatcher, Kintz was in Palatka visiting relatives in the area. Palatka is located in the northeastern part of Florida near Jacksonville.
The driver, a 49-year-old Palatka man, stopped and was cooperating with troopers and the investigation is continuing, the patrol states.
