Jewelry store near Calcutta robbed
CALCUTTA — A jewelry store in St. Clair Township in Columbiana County was broken into this weekend and store owners are determining how much was taken.
According to a report from Tribune Chronicle news partner WKBN-TV, the owners realized the Kay Jewelers store near the Summit Square Shopping Center had been ransacked about noon Sunday. Someone had cut a hole in the roof to gain access to the store and dismantle the alarm system.
Authorities, including personnel from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, are looking at store security footage.
Last month, two men got away with $25,000 in diamonds from a Jared’s store in Boardman. Those men are still at large.
