City schools add resource officer for rest of year
WARREN — Warren City Schools added a sixth school resource officer Monday, enabling the district to have at least one officer in each of its PK-8 schools and two officers at Warren G. Harding High School.
Resource officers are full-time police officers who work in the school district to provide security and enable students to have regular contact with police.
The school district pays the Warren Police Department $50,000 per officer for a nine-month period. The newest officer’s pay is expected to be prorated based on the time remaining in the school year.
