Celebrating Purim

Rabbi Joseph Schonberger on saxophone performs at Purim Wednesday at Temple El Emeth

The Purim celebration was held Wednesday at Temple El Emeth in Liberty. Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, who was planning to kill all the Jews. This took place in the ancient Achaemenid Persian Empire. Purim is celebrated every year in the late winter/early spring.

Rabbi Joseph Schonberger of Temple El Emeth played the saxaphone during the event which featured food and music, brought together congregation members from Congregation Rodef Sholom of Youngstown, Congregation Ohev Tzedek of Boardman and Temple El Emeth.
