WHAT: Township trustee meeting Monday

PRESENT: Heidi Brown, Phil Pegg and Rich Dascenzo


• Heard from fire Chief Richard Brannon a new $199,000 ambulance from Lifeline Ambulance of Lower Burrell, Pa., was delivered and will be put in operation this week;

• Hired Mark Haddle as a part-time emergency medical technician at $10.50 per hour and Shane Stelk as a part-time medic at $11.50 per hour;

• Accepted the resignation of Kevin Moyer from the road department, effective Feb. 13. He will be paid for three weeks vacation;

• Purchased a $3,400 rapid intervention rescue kit for the fire department, which will be partly covered by a $3,200 Federal Emergency Management Agency grant. Brannon said the kit includes air bottles in case of firefighters run out of air in tanks when battling fires or at emergency situations;

• Purchased a $10,500 generator from CR Electric for the police department;

• Heard from Michele Garman of the Vienna Neighborhood Watch, which will meet 7 p.m. Monday at the township hall, of a strategic plan to be done to see what direction residents want the group to go and what to be involved with;

• Set Easter egg hunt for 1 p.m. March 24 at fire department and spring cleanup day for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 19 behind the road department.
