McDonald mayor forms committee to discuss basketball court hours
McDONALD — Village Mayor Glenn Puckett this week formed a committee of village officials to review the hours the park’s basketball courts should be open.
The courts were closed last year after problems with profanity, littering and drugs by individuals playing at the park.
The courts have since been open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, but officials are considering extending the hours in the spring and summer when it is daylight longer in the evenings.
The committee includes councilmen Walter Bradley and Richard Harvey, Village Administrator Thomas Domitrovich and Police Chief Bill Woodley.
The committee will gather information and make recommendations to council based on their findings.
