Newton woman being accused of choking 9-year-old
NEWTON FALLS — A Newton Township woman was arraigned Thursday on a child endangering charge after a Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office report stated a woman was arrested after a 9-year-old boy was found bleeding at a Kings Drive address.
Ashley L. Daniels, 30, of 26 Kings Drive, appeared before Newton Falls Municipal Judge Philip Vigorito, who ordered the woman have no contact with the child and cooperate with Trumbull County Children Services caseworkers.
Daniels, whose next court appearance is set for Jan. 18, is free on $500 bond, according to Trumbull County Jail records.
The woman was arrested after an incident about 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Kings Drive address, where a neighbor put a 9-year-old boy — who was bleeding from a scratch on the arm and a lump on the head — into the back of a car. A court record also states the woman, who was described as yelling at the scene, choked the child.
An ambulance was called to the scene to check on the boy, the sheriff’s report states.
