Woman beaten with bat refuses to file charges

WARREN — A woman hospitalized after fighting with her sister over a tryst with the sister’s boyfriend was arrested on a non-related menacing charge.

Adrionna L. Sherman, 22, was arrested Monday on a warrant on a menacing charge, after police found her at 403 Southern Blvd. NW, beaten by her sister.

She is scheduled to appear before Judge Terry Ivanchak on Dec. 19 on the menacing charge.

Sherman, according to a police report, told officers that she was dragged down three flights of stairs and beaten with a baseball bat by her sister Sunday night.

Sherman refused to file charges against her sister for the assault because Sherman told officers she “….deserved what she got,” according to a police report.

Sherman did not call police or emergency medical personnel for help, but was upset when a resident of the apartment did. She was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

Officers reported seeing injuries to Sherman’s head and face.

Sherman complained of rib, leg and back pain, according to the police report. She had to be carried out of the apartment to the ambulance.
