Gun violence reports in Warren

WARREN — A man who was pistol-whipped and knocked unconscious was among several instances of gun violence that were reported Monday and Tuesday to police in Warren, according to reports.

Police were called just after 2:30 a.m. Monday to Trumbull Regional Medical Center, where a man said he was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted, a report states.

The man, 26, said he was walking on West Market Street to the Fastlane convenience mart when a man pointed a silver revolver at him. The victim tried to defend himself, the report states, but he was pistol-whipped, knocked unconscious and robbed of $2,000 and an iPhone, the report states.

Police found several bullet holes and shell casings just before 4 p.m. Monday on the ground in front of an apartment at 2299 Beck St. SE, according to a police report. The home’s front door was shattered and there was a large pool of blood on the ground, the report states.

While police were investigating, a call from the 2200 block of North Feederle Drive SE came in from a resident claiming her apartment was hit with a bullet.

A home was hit with a bullet just after 10 p.m. Monday at 1908 Oakdale St. NW.

Police were called to the home just after 5 a.m. Tuesday by a man told them he heard a noise Monday night and thought his dog had knocked something over in the house, but when he woke up, he found drywall on his couch and a hole in the living room wall, the report states.

A bullet was found in the home and the hole it left was inches away from the man’s bed headboard, the report states.

Just before 11 p.m. Monday, Bryon Brandt, 19, of Warren, reported he was shot at while riding his bicycle near Elm Hill Drive and Tod Avenue NW.

Brandt told police two men in a group of four shot at him eight or nine times before they drove away on Tod Avenue in a black Chevrolet Impala.

“I made it home and wasn’t shot, thank God,” Brandt said.

No arrests were made in any of the incidents, according to the reports.
