Youngstown man arrested after woman sustains cut
WARREN — A Warren woman sustained a severe cut on the hand and a Youngstown man was arrested following an altercation Monday afternoon at a Vernon Street NW apartment.
Terry Gray, 32, 542 Detroit Ave., Youngstown, was arraigned Tuesday on a felonious assault charge, according to Warren Municipal Court records. Gray pleaded not guilty to the charge and Judge Terry Ivanchak set bond at $35,000. Trumbull County Jail records show Gray still in custody as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim, Venus Williams, 47, suffered a severe cut to the right hand and was treated at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, the police report states.
Williams told police that she and Gray were arguing and when she started to leave, the man grabbed two knives from the kitchen and began to swing them, cutting the woman, the report states. Gray told police the woman cut herself when she was cutting potatoes, the report states.
