THANKSGIVING ECUMENICAL SERVICE: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host a Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service 7 p.m. Sunday at St. James Catholic Church, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren. Calvary Presbyterian hosted the service in 2015 and Grace United Methodist in 2016. The service will have all three pastors presenting homilies. Each of the church’s music directors will conduct the combined choir.

THANKSGIVING SERVICE: Girard First Christian Church, 140 E. Broadway Ave., will hold a community Thanksgiving service 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Girard-area clergy will participate in the special service with speaker, the Rev. Vicky Kelley of Girard United Methodist Church. The St. Rose Children’s Choir will be singing. The Girard Community Church Choir also will perform.

DELIVERING MEALS: First Assembly of God, Lord’s Table Ministry, will be delivering free home-cooked Thanksgiving dinners to area homebound and / or elderly residents and those in need. If you would like a free dinner delivered to your home on Thanksgiving Day, call the church at 330-898-1775 by Monday.

CHURCH SEMINAR: Word of Life Christian Center, 127 Wasser Road, Greenville, Pa., will conduct a seminar on ”Goodness of God” 9 a.m. to noon today. The seminar is free to the public.

WOMEN OF FAITH: The Women of Faith Ministers’ Wives and Widows will meet 10 a.m. today at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Warren.

MEN’S DAY: Higher Ground Ministries, 327 Belmont Ave., Warren, will hold the annual Men’s Day 3:30 p.m. today with guest speaker Pastor Robert Herron of St. John Church of God in Christ.

GOSPEL JUBILEE: Michael Gardner will make his annual appearance on the Victory Gospel Jubilee 6 p.m. today with a two-hour concert in the auditorium at the Old School Marketplace, the former South Range High School, 11836 South Ave., North Lima. Gardner, from Tallmadge, has been singing gospel music for decades. In addition to his regular appearances at the Jubilee, he has been a fixture on the Jubilee’s special New Year’s Eve Sing.

The Golden Street Singers, in their sixth year as hosts of the Jubilee, also will perform. There is no admission. A free-will offering will be received.

NIGHT OF HOPE: Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, Liberty will hold ”A Night of Grace and Honor” 6 p.m. today with the Allan Scott Band. The event is open to the public. There will be worship and stories of freedom. A love offering will be accepted.

PASTOR APPRECIATION: Elim Christian Center, 3214 Ridge Road, Warren, will hold pastor appreciation 9 a.m. Sunday for Pastor Loretta Pernice for her 17 years in ministry.

FOUNDERS’ DAY: First Presbyterian Church of Warren, Mahoning Avenue, will celebrate the church’s 14th anniversary 10 a.m. Sunday. Members with 50 years or more will be honored.

CELEBRATING 101 YEARS: Second Baptist Church “A House of Hope,”1510 Main Ave. SW, Warren, will celebrate its 101st anniversary 10:15 a.m. Sunday. The Homecoming Worship Service will feature guest speaker the Rev. Walter Arrington of the Peoples Baptist Church in Canton. Immediately following the service will be a special ceremony balloon release in honor of members past and present and the re-lighting of the exterior cross, prominently displayed since the completion of the current church edifice in 1960. Balloons are $3 each and proceeds benefit the church’s building restoration initiative.

HOLY HOUR / LITURGY: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Warren, SS. Cyril and Methodius site, will host ”Spend and Hour with Jesus” 5:20 p.m. each Wednesday with an evening of holy hour and liturgy of the word with communion service. Holy hour adoration 5:20 p.m., Novena 6 p.m. and liturgy of the word with communion service 6:20 p.m.

RELIGIOUS RETIREMENT: Catholics in the Diocese of Youngstown will have the opportunity to “give to those who have given a lifetime” as part of the collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious, to be held in parishes Nov. 25 and 26. Coordinated by the National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) in Washington, D.C., the annual appeal benefits 32,000 elderly Catholic sisters, brothers and religious order priests whose religious congregations lack adequate retirement funding.

The 2016 collection raised almost $30.7 million. Roughly 94 cents of every dollar aids senior religious.Throughout the year, additional funding is allocated to assist religious communities with the greatest needs and to promote ongoing education in retirement planning and eldercare delivery.

SPIRITUALITY EVENT: The Benedictine Sisters of the Byzantine Church at Queen of Heaven Monastery, Warren, are offering a Day of Spirituality in preparation for Christmas 1 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at SS. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 180 Belvedere Ave., N.E., Warren. To register, call 330-856-1813 or e-mail by Dec. 1.

The presenter will be the Rev, John M. Kudrick, Bishop Emeritus of the Eparchy of Parma. His presentation considers answers to the questions: “Where should we seek the Lord?” and “Why do we need to seek Him? Why doesn’t He just show himself?”

There will be time for reflection, questions, and refreshments, and an opportunity to receive the Mystery (Sacrament) of Reconciliation.

HOLIDAY CELEBRATION: First Baptist Church of Braceville will hold its third annual Christmas celebration 7 to 11 p.m. Dec. 15 at Aulizio’s Banquet Center in Warren. Tickets are $30 and includes a full buffet dinner with dessert, door prizes and games. There will be live entertainment provided by the Michael Austin Project. All tickets will be sold in advance and not at the door. TENOR RETURNS: Irish tenor Emmet Cahill will make a return appearance to the Valley Dec. 21. Cahill, 27, is one of the lead singers of Celtic Thunder, one of the most successful international groups of all time. Cahill will perform a combination of Irish music, Christmas carols and church hymns at 8 p.m. Dec. 21 at St. Columba Cathedral.
