Elm Road Pit Stop robbed of $5,500

WARREN — The night manager of the Pit Stop, 1001 Elm Road, was robbed of $5,505 as he exited the gas station about 10:05 p.m. Monday, according to a police report.

As Nabil T. Al-banna was closing the station, two men wearing masks and hats walked up to him demanding any cash he was carrying. Al-banna was carrying the cash receipts in a brown paper bag, along with some newspapers.

One man pulled out a black pistol and pointed it at Al-banna, who threw the paper bag at the two men. The other man kept his hands in his pockets, according to the police report. One picked up the bag and ran behind the building. At that point, a witness who already had called the police drove into the station’s parking lot to check on Al-banna.

Officers that arrived on the scene checked a vacant house at 936 Terra Alta, located behind the gas station, because its rear door was open. The suspects were not located.
