Retired officer to be honored

A retired Youngstown police officer will be honored by state Attorney General Michael DeWine in a law enforcement achievement awards ceremony in Columbus today.

Among the police officers to be honored will be retired Youngstown police officer Richard T. Baldwin, who will be given the distinguished law enforcement lifetime achievement award.

Baldwin retired from the force in November after 33 years of service, according to an Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association publication.

The noon ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Columbus hotel also will honor five Ohio law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty during 2016.
