McKinley library director in finals for Mahoning post
YOUNGSTOWN — The director of the McKinley Memorial Library in Niles is a finalist in the search for the next executive director of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
Michelle Alleman is among four finalists named after recent interviews. Alleman, who has more than 18 years of experience working in public libraries, has served as director of the McKinley Memorial Library for 20 months, according to a news release from the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
Other finalists are Patricia Crosby, assistant director of the Pickens County Library System in South Carolina; Aimee Fifarek, deputy director of Information Technology and Digital Initiatives at Phoenix Public Library in Arizona; and Maria Gebhardt, manager of Integrated Marketing Communications and Social Media for Broward County Public Schools in Florida.
The candidates will appear at a public forum 6 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting room of Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road. The Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County will hold a special session at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the meeting room of the Main Library, 305 Wick Ave., to discuss the candidates and consider an appointment.
