Niles man gets two years in break-in

WARREN — A Niles man received a two-year prison sentence Thursday after he was convicted of a felony linked to an April break-in at a Howland home.

Carmen J. Renna, 27, 404 W. Federal St., pleaded guilty before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald J. Rice to a second-degree burglary charge. Renna told Rice he has been battling a 15-year heroin habit.

Assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor Michael Burnett said Renna was accused of taking personal items from the home on North River Road. Burnett said no restitution was requested by the victim.
