Stills, Collins team for Powers concert in October

Tribune Chronicle

Stephen Stills and Judy Collins will perform together on Oct. 15 at Powers Auditorium.

Stills and Collins were a couple 50 years ago, and that love affair was immortalized in Stills song “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” which was recorded by Crosby, Stills & Nash on its debut album.

Their current tour is the first time the two have performed together. Each will do songs from their respective musical catalogs and share stories about their careers. They also will perform material from the upcoming Stills & Collins album “Everybody Knows.”

The Sept. 22 release features originals by both artists and covers of songs by Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.

In addition to his solo career, Stills has been a member of Buffalo Springfield, CSN, Manassas, The Rides and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

He is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and was ranked #28 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”

Collins is a Grammy Award-winning artist whose music mixes folk, rock, classical and jazz influences.

Her hits include “Both Sides Now” and “Send in the Clowns.”

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $100, $68, $55 and $40 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office, online at www.youngstownsymphony.com and by calling 330-744-0264.
