2 OD in car with baby inside
WARREN — Two men were found passed out in a car from suspected drug overdoses just before 8 p.m. Wednesday in the middle of a parking lot of Rocky’s AM PM Market, 1744 W. Market St., according to police.
A 7-month-old child in the back seat was taken from the vehicle into the convenience store, a police report states. When officers arrived at the emergency call, a woman was seen pouring milk into the mouth of the vehicle’s driver and pushing him in an attempt to get him to respond, according to the report.
A second man in the passenger seat also was passed out. It appeared that someone also attempted to pour milk into the passenger, according to the report.
Officers found both men limp, having shallow breathing and not responding to shaking.
A single dose of Narcan, an opioid reversal drug, was given to each man, according to the report. The driver was awakened, but the passenger did not wake up.
At the recommendation of emergency responders, the passenger was removed from the car, placed on the ground and treated, according to the report.
The driver told officers the baby was in the back seat and he was not aware the child had been taken out of the vehicle. The child was released to his grandmother.
The passenger eventually was awakened at the scene. Both men were taken by ambulance to Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
No charges had been filed in Warren Municipal Court as of Thursday evening.
