Trumbull County Spelling Bee

The Trumbull County Educational Service Center held the Trumbull County Spelling Bee Wednesday at Liberty High School. Thirty-three students from public and parochial schools in the county took part. The winner was Isabella Pinto of Bristol High School. Tied for second place were Drake Britton of Lincoln PK-8 School in Warren and Lauren Kromer of Howland Middle School. Third place was Emily Proverbs of Southington Middle School, fourth place was Zachary Grant of W.S. Guy Middle School in Liberty and fifth place was Dylan Wyant of Newton Falls Middle School.

TOP LEFT: Isabella Pinto, 12, a seventh-grader at Bristol High School, correctly spells ”stentorian,” which means a loud and powerful voice, to win the Trumbull County Spelling Bee Wednesday at Liberty High School. The bee was hosted by the Trumbull County Educational Service Center. This is the second year in a row Pinto won the bee, and she will compete at the Tribune Chronicle Scripps National Spelling Bee March 6 at Kent State University at Trumbull in Champion. The winner of that bee will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee May 31 in Washington, D.C.
