Shooting in New Castle, Pa.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The victim of a shooting outside a convenience store late Saturday is in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, according to Tribune Chronicle news partner WKBN-TV.

Police responded about 9:45 p.m. to the Seven-Eleven parking lot on Highland Avenue to investigate a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the stomach. A 17-year-old male was taken into custody, and the report states he admitted to shooting the man during a fight.

WKBN reported that the teen is being held on charges of attempt to commit homicide, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a minor. No condition report was given on the victim.
