MVSD gets loan for distribution system
WEATHERSFIELD — The Mahoning Valley Sanitary District has gotten a $6.3 million low-interest loan from the state to help replace distribution valves and transmission lines.
Construction of the improvements is expected to be completed by mid-2018, according to a release from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. MVSD is a public water system that serves Youngstown, Niles and McDonald. The reduced interest rate on the $6.3 million loan will save it about $1.2 million.
