NILES — Police here are searching for a man who robbed Instant Cash for Gold and Diamonds, 6261 Youngstown Warren Road, of $500 and two pieces of jewelry Monday.

Police are hoping a video surveillance image can help lead them to the man wanted for armed robbery, said Lt. Robert Miketa.

A man wearing a red and gray striped sweatshirt with a bandanna partially covering his face entered the store at about 11:30 a.m. and pointed a gun at an employee, according to a police report.

The man forced the employee to get money from a safe, the report states. Police are not releasing details about the pieces of jewelry.

Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call the Niles police detective bureau at 330-652-9944.
