Newton Falls seeks road levy
• 2-mill, five-year additional levy for roads
• Will generate about $116,000
• Will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $70 a year, or less than $6 per month
• “If this levy is approved by voters, a five-year list of streets would be repaved with the money,” said Jack Haney, city manager.
• Streets to be repaved:
First year — West Broad Street from Ridge to Ninth; Lincoln Avenue.
Second year — Bridge Street; Liberty Street; Church Street from Center to Canal streets; East River Road (first section from Milton).
Third year — Orchard Street (Canal to Ravenna Road); Quarry Street (Center to Ravenna Road); Bane Street.
Fourth year — Orchard Street (Center to Canal); Freedom Avenue; Maple Drive; Newton Drive (Mahoning Drive to Freedom Avenue).
Fifth year — Woodglen Drive; Ashlynn Court, Ticknor Avenue; Main Street.
