Thur. 3:45 p.m.: Former Warren auditor sentenced to federal prison
YOUNGSTOWN – The former Warren city who admitted to mailing white powder to his former employer will serve one year and one day in federal prison as punishment for the federal crime.
U.S. District Court Judge Benita Y. Pearson sentenced Anthony J. Natale, 37, to the prison sentence and ordered that he pay $24,000 in restitution and fines. Natale showed up in court today with $10,000, which will be applied to his restitution.
He faced up to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty in June to one count of conveying false information related to the use of a weapons of mass destruction.
