• Catch the beat as the Youngstown State University percussion ensemble gives a free performance at the Music at Noon series at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.

• Learn about alternative radio at a free lecture by David Barsamian, founder and host of “Alternative Radio,” 7 p.m. in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center at YSU.

• There is a new exhibit at the Sutliff Museum on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. ”A Stitch in Time: Early to Mid-20th Century Sewing and Crocheting” features two early Singer sewing machines, including a mini 20-10 Singer, 1940s women’s and children’s Simplicity patterns, early 20th century decorative scissors, and various how-to books on sewing and crocheting.
