Warren man gets 2-year prison term
WARREN – A Warren man Monday was given a two-year prison sentence for a conviction in a case involving a late December police chase that ended with the man jumping through a restaurant window at the Eastwood Mall Complex.
Anthony J. McClintock, 29, of 1076 Hartman Ave., appeared before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Peter J. Kontos after he had pleaded guilty June 13 to a third-degree felony of failure to comply with signal or order of police officer.
Police said McClintock was driving recklessly Dec. 21, 2015, in the parking lot of Kohl’s on state Route 46, and when officers attempted to stop him, he drove over an embankment behind the store and then crashed into an SUV on Mines Road.
The SUV he was driving was reported stolen from Warren, police said.
After the crash, McClintock got out of the vehicle and ran into Red Lobster, where he jumped through the front plate glass window, police said.
Before sentencing, McClintock apologized to the communities of Niles and Howland for his actions.
