Loan business entered through office next door
WARREN – Whoever broke into a payday loan business Thursday got in the store by knocking a hole through the wall of a neighboring doctor’s office, according to a police report.
Police found that someone broke into First American Loans, 1956 Elm Road N.E., after finding the office next door in the plaza had been broken into first, and a hole had been busted through a wall that separated the two businesses.
Inside the loan store, someone cut interior wires, rummaged through cabinet file drawers and drilled a hole in the safe, but were not able to get inside, the report states. Taken was about $20 and a DVD video burner.
Police were called to the plaza around 5:30 a.m. by a woman, who while arriving to work at another store in the plaza, heard noise behind the plaza and discovered the phones had been tampered with, according to the report.
