WARREN – An employee of a local convenience store told police he was shot at and robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.

The employee said he was attending to a drive-through customer at Fast Fuel, 1514 Parkman Road N.W., around 1:40 a.m. when a black male wearing a stocking cap entered the store through the drive-through window, according to a Warren police report.

The employee stated that the gunman fired three shots at him as he ran for cover, the report states.

The unknown man, who was dressed in a white T-shirt and black shorts, stole the cash register, exited back through the drive-through window and ran away, according to the report.

The employee activated the panic alarm and waited for police.

Police reported locating three shell casings and one bullet at the scene. Police deployed a K9 after tracking the gunman north into the parking lot of a business at Parkman Road and Drexel Avenue N.W., but the dog was not able to pick up the man’s scent, the report states.

The employee told police he was not sure how much cash was in the register.

No injuries were reported. The police reports indicate there is a surveillance recording of the incident.
