Democrats in Trumbull elect officers

WARREN – Trumbull County Democratic Party central committee members elected Dan Polivka to his second four-year term as party chairman.

Also elected to four-year leadership positions Thursday were Kathy DiCristofaro, vice chair, and Ralph Infante, secretary. All three ran unopposed.

DiCristofaro, the former secretary, was elected vice chair so the party can comply with a Democratic National Committee bylaw that requires a female vice chair if the chairman is male, and the opposite, if the chair is female, the vice chair should be male.

Other appointed officers were Mike Villano, treasurer; Judi Toles, recording secretary; Chris Becker, parliamentarian; and Allen Briggs, sergeant at arms.

Trumbull County Republican Party central committee members will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at Howland Community Church to elect party officers. It’s believed that Randy Law, a former state representative running in the 64th House District race in November, will challenge GOP chairwoman Kathi Creed for the top position.

Nominations will be made at the meeting.
