School gets stricter on sign-ins after lockdown
COLUMBIANA – Visitors to the Columbiana school buildings should be prepared to identify themselves and explain why they are there before being allowed into the building, even if staff already knows who they are.
Superintendent Don Mook said Friday the district is reviewing and reinforcing its already existing visitor guidelines as a result of the Wednesday incident in which an unidentified man entered the building and used the restroom without signing in, resulting in a Level 1 lockdown.
According to students in the restroom, when the man couldn’t wait for a stall to become available, he sat on a trash can to relieve himself. The man left the building unnoticed.
A search after the lockdown did not turn him up.
