Man hospitalized in crash
WARREN – A man needed to be cut free from his vehicle by emergency workers Thursday afternoon after striking a utility pole on North Park Avenue.
Police said Dana Berthmyer was driving near the Warren GE Lamp Plant building when his GMC truck veered out of its lane and into the pole.
It took Warren police officers and firefighters about 30 minutes to free Berthmyer, who was taken to St. Joseph Health Center for what police said were non-life threatening injuries. His condition was not known late Thursday night.
It’s unknown if Berthmyer was cited in connection to the crash. His age and community where he lives were not available.
Police are investigating the cause or the crash. Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
Berthmyer was the only occupant in the truck, and no other injuries were reported.
