WARREN – City police on Wednesday identified the man wounded by gunfire Tuesday night at a house near the corner of Hamilton Street S.W. and York Avenue S.W.

However, the two men believed to have been involved in the shooting remained at large, police said.

Police were called to 1461 Hamilton St. S.W. around 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports of gunshots. They found that Robert L. Holt Jr., 28, of 1494 Hamilton St. S.W., had been shot, according to Warren police reports.

Holt was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. An update on his condition was not available on Wednesday.

Tuesday night, police reported they were searching for two individuals who were seen running from the house. They were described as white males around the ages of 18 or 19. Their names were not released.

On Wednesday, Warren Police Lt. Jeff Cole said no arrests have been made and that the two men had not yet been apprehended.

In an unrelated matter, police arrested a man wanted in Lake County who was in the area of the shooting. Police said they came across Freddie Washington, 35, of 424 York Ave., Warren, who had a fugitive warrant out of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, while at the scene of Holt’s shooting.
